Yvette Hugard

Chicopee-Yvette (Dubois) Hugard, 89, died May 30, 2009 at Wingate at West Springfield. Born in Holyoke to the late Onésime and Louise (Tondré) Dubois, she was a lifelong area resident. She grew up in Aldenville and attended Chicopee schools. Yvette worked at the Springfield Armory during WWII and after the war she worked at CF Church Co. in Willimansett. She and her husband became the owners of Griffin’s Package Store in Holyoke until retirement. She was predeceased by her husband, Marcel Hugard and a sister, Doris Foti. She leaves a son, Gustave “David” Hugard and his wife, Margaret “Mikki”, of Chicopee; a daughter, Jeanne Hugard of Chicopee and four nieces: Barbara Moynihan and Louise Jasionkowski, both of Westhampton, Annie Gaumond of FL and Gloria Foti of Easthampton. The funeral will be Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill St., Springfield. Visitation will precede the funeral from 2:00-4:00 on Sunday. A private burial will held Monday, June 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield MA 01104-2396.
