William Glen Mccarthy, Jr.

William "Bill" McCarthy passed away on Sunday, August 10th, 2025 at his residence in Springfield. He leaves behind his mother, Kathleen Truman and stepfather Wendall Truman of Windsor Locks, Connecticut; his sister Jennifier Cruz and brother-in-law Rich Cruz; brother Christopher Sullivan and sister-in-law Rebecca Sullivan. Bill also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, including one grand-nephew. In addition, he also leaves behind a much loved extended family. Bill was born in Springfield in 1976. He worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific for 28 years, and also worked at Arcade on Wheels. Those who knew him, knew him to be very hardworking. Bill always put his family and friends first, as he had a heart for helping people. Bill greatly enjoyed family gatherings, video games, G.I. Joe and Star Wars. He was an avid fan of the Springfield Thunderbirds. There will be a memorial service held on Wednesday, August 20th at the New England Funeral and Cremation Center located at 25 Mill Street in Springfield, Massachusetts. There will be a visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the memorial service at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you instead plant a tree in Bill's memory.
