EAST LONGMEADOW-William E. Hurlburt, 63, died suddenly at home on May 29, 2011. He was born in Northampton, MA on March 30, 1948 to the late William and Irma Pellsier. Upon graduating from Northampton High Scholl Bill enlisted in the US Air Force for 20 years, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a retired supervisor for the United States Postal Service, Springfield Main Street Station. Bill was an avid golfer and until arthritis set in he would play every day. He also loved football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, and his Siamese cat, Bandit. Predeceased by his parents and his brother, Steve Learned, he is survived by his wife, Sheila A. (Farrell) Hurlburt, daughter, Claire Phaneuf, all of East Longmeadow, brothers-in-law: Brian Farrell, (Cindy), Jay Farrell, (Kim), of Cincinnati, OH; and his sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Waletkus, (Stanley), of Monson, MA. The funeral will be held on Monday, June 6 at 11:00 AM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill St., Springfield, MA with burial to follow with full military honors at 1 PM in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery.
