NEW YORK-Walter Felix Zielinski, 87, died September 6, 2011 in Westfield, MA. Born on January 5, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA to Stephen and Bertha (Bukowsky) Zielinski, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Walter had retired from the New York City Police Department serving as a police officer in the Brooklyn community for 20 years. He was an avid New York Yankees fan. Predeceased by his parents, his wife Irene (Pawchak) Zielinski, his brother, Wally Zielinski and sisters, Helen Mrozek and Florence Zielinski, he is survived by his daughters, Vera Roth and her husband, Fred of Wayne, NJ and Pat Zielinski of Westfield, MA; brother, Felip Zielinski; sisters, Genevive Fabrizi and Dolores Franczkowski; grandchildren: Mark and Jessica Roth, Jeremiah, Jillian and David Lind of Kingston, NY and Rebecca and Timothy Dubay of Westfield, MA; and great grandchildren: Josie, Raegan, Ryanne and Kalin Dubay and Donovan Lind. A Memorial Mass will be held on November 20, 2011 at 9:30 AM at St. Augustine’s Chapel West Shokan, NY.
