Walter J. Henry Sr.

Chicopee – Walter J. Henry, Sr., 90, husband of the late Eunice I. (Austin) Henry, passed away on February 5, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center.
Born in Springfield, MA on December 3, 1928, a son of the late Walter E. and Catherine A. (Cleary), he was a Veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving in Alaska during the Korean War. For many years he and his wife made their home in Belchertown where he was a self- employed electrician, and the electrical inspector for Belchertown. In addition, he worked for Uniroyal, James River Graphics, Monsanto and Spaulding.
He is survived by four sons: Walter J. Henry, Jr. (Jacqueline) of Belchertown, John F. Henry of Greenfield, Michael T. Henry of Belchertown, Christopher G. Henry (Tammy) of Port St. Lucie, FL; two daughters: Anne-Marie LaValle (James) of Belchertown, and Patricia J. Henry (Barry) of Oakwood, GA; ten grandchildren, Jimmy, Zachary, Kayla, Katie, Nathan, Matthew, Justin, Kristin, Jared and Morgan; six great grandchildren and his very special friend, Pat Schleb. He was predeceased by his siblings, twin sister Anne Burke, Catherine Henry, and George Henry.
Family and friends are requested to gather at 8:45 AM on Monday February 11, 2019 at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA, processing to the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery for committal services to honor both Mr. and Mrs. Henry.
