Walter M. Harriman

SPRINGFIELD--Walter "Harry" Morton Harriman, 72, died October 14,2010 at the Chapin Center in Springfield, MA. Born in Brockton, MA to the late Walter and Ruth (Hathaway) Harriman, he was a lifelong area resident who enjoyed working on cars and lending a listening ear anytime he could help people out with their problems. Predeceased by his brother, Ralph Harriman, and his sister, Meta Flippo, he is survived by his former wife, Florence Christian, of West Springfield; daughter, Tracy Traver (Gary), of Agawam; son, Walter M. Harriman III, of West Springfield; brothers, William and George Harriman, of AR; sisters: Nancy Vergason, of AR, Jennie Vaccaro, of Boston, MA and Vicky Liker, of TX; and his granddaughter, Amber-Lynn Traver. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 19 at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield from 11 A.M. to 12:15 P.M. with burial with full military honors to follow at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA at 1:00 P.M.
