Obituary

Victor Thomas Focosi, age 83, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2026.

He will be missed.

He was born on February 21, 1943, to Renato and Margaret (Avezzie) Focosi. Victor spent most of his life living in Springfield, exploring New England, scouting out the best places for finding maple syrup, Christmas trees, and beach visits. He most recently lived at The Reserve assisted living community in East Longmeadow, where he enjoyed celebrating milestones surrounded by the love of his family and friends. He was known for his resilience, warmth, and the deep love he held for his daughters.

Victor was preceded in death by his former wife, Kathleen (Pond) Focosi; his parents, Renato, and Margaret Focosi; his brother, Robert Focosi; and his sister, Elsie Johnson.

Vic spent time in the USMC in the 1960s. Professionally, he ran a business for over 20 years and retired as the Director of Facilities at STCC.

The Cursillo movement had a major impact on Vic's life. He made his Cursillo in the 1970s and served as Rector in 1994. Through his Cursillo experiences, he made many close friendships that lasted his lifetime.

His legacy of love and family dedication lives on through his cherished daughters, Elizabeth Focosi and Valerie Bonatakis, and Valerie's husband, Mike. He is also survived by his siblings, Reno Focosi and his wife, Marie, Linda Mullins and her husband, Jim, and Margie Benis and her husband, Bill; his five grandchildren, Lauren Bonatakis and her husband, Tyler Martin, Jack Bonatakis and his wife, Marissa Kardon-Weber, Haleigh Sylvester and her husband, Shane, Rachel Franz, and Caden Blais; and his three great-grandchildren, Nora Martin, Evangeline Sylvester, and Maeve Sylvester.

Vic loved his many cousins and enjoyed the "cousin's breakfasts". He had many good friends who were like family, and spoke of his love for them regularly.

The Bureau for Exceptional Children and Adults (Jericho) in Holyoke held a special place in Vic's heart. He was very proud to be one of the co-founders of the annual Jericho golf tournament, an event he looked forward to every year.

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Victor's honor to the https://jerichobeca.org/
