Tomas Martinez

Springfield—Tomas Martinez, 81, died at home on January 25, 2013. Born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico on September 22, 1931 to Juan Martinez and Hipolita Davila, he had worked at Slant Fin Corp. on Long Island, NY and retired from Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He enjoyed baseball , dominos and maintaining his automobiles. He especially enjoyed being with his family. He leaves his loving wife Margarita (Rivera) Martinez; children: Thomas Martinez Jr. (Iriz), Alberto Martinez, Alex Martinez (Camille), Augustin Cardona (Sandra), Alexis Martinez and his partner Jalida , Aaron Martinez, Awilda Cardona, Nilda Martinez and Jennifer Martinez; siblings: Jose Martinez (Ana Maria) , Juan Martinez Jr.(Maria), Ana Maria Maldonado (Justin) and Elisa Melendez (Benito) and 11 grandchildren. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 6:00-7:30 PM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield with a memorial talk at 7:30 PM. led by Jermaine Barnett of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Parker Street Congregation.
