LONGMEADOW – Tom Clark, 93, passed away April 29, 2016 at the Julian J. Leavitt Family Jewish Nursing Home. Born in Hickman, KY on December 2, 1922, he was the son of the late Joe Clark and Alavie Phelps.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army and Navy during World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War.
Predeceased by ten siblings, he leaves his sister Ethel B.C. Cooper of Wilbraham and her children Alfreda Hill, Valeria Cooper, Beverly Blake (R. Steve) and Nathan Cooper who worked tirelessly for Tom, helping with his care and worries. Tom appreciated all that was done for him.
He also leaves his family of nieces and nephews Evelyn Black, Lessie Taylor, Gwen Fulton, Yvonne Phillips (Mike), Charles Smith (Rosa), Bobby Smith (Cynthia), Diane Smith-Jubille (Carroll), Carol Smith (Anthony), Joyce Smith, Bobby Smith (Debbie), Ben Byrd, Barbara Washington (James), Larry Clark (Christine), James Clark, Jr. (Lorraine) and Robin Clark as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on May 11, 2016 at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield beginning at 1 PM processing to the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam for burial with military honors. Visit
