SPRINGFIELD - Tayquan R. Goodman, 22, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014 in Springfield, MA. He was born in Springfield on April 14, 1992. A graduate of Central High School Class of 2011 and a former standout basketball player, he graduated from Springfield Technical Community College with a degree in Liberal Arts, he was a student at The College of Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee, MA where he was pursuing a degree in Health Care Management. He also worked at F.L. Roberts on East Columbus Avenue in Springfield as an auto detailer. Tayquan touched many lives with his love of basketball, being a good friend and living by example with his great big smile. He loved fashion, sneakers, clothes, old-school music, slow jams and dancing.

He leaves his father, Harold R.Goodman, Jr. and his wife Damarie, his mother, Charlene Cavitt, his grandparents, Harold Goodman Sr. and his wife Mary, Bessie Cavitt and Charles Latham and his wife Barbara, his great grandparents, Viola Goodman and Charles Latham Sr. all of Springfield, his brothers, Tayvon, Treyvontae Goodman of Springfield and Dashaun Goodman of Holyoke, his stepbrother, Gage Oyola and his stepsister, Kelsey Villanueva, of Springfield, his aunts, Demetria Goodman of Springfield and Jennifer Cavitt of Omaha, NE, his uncles, Charles Latham of Springfield and Kevin Cavitt of Omaha, NE, his cousin, Aaliyah Gordon of Springfield and many other family members and friends.

All are invited to remember Tayquan on Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 4:00-6:00PM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA. Family and friends may gather for A Celebration of His Life on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Bethel AME Church, 27 Pendleton Avenue, Springfield, MA at 11:00AM with Pastor Angelo S. Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Following the service at the cemetery you are cordially invited to a repast at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 455 Island Pond Road, Springfield, MA.

Memorial donations may be made to the Tayquan R. Goodman Basketball Scholarship Fund at any TD Bank.
