Stephen W. Greenman

ASHFIELD-Stephen W. Greenman, 61, died July 18, 2012 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Born in Orange, MA on March 6, 1951 to the late Ernest and Florence (Nelson) Greenman, he had worked as a machinist and served in Ashfield on the Fire Department and as a DARE police officer. A very caring man who helped the elderly and youth, he became a parent to Bradford Bardwell, a teenager in the community. He was a substitute teacher in the Mohawk School District and a foster parent until he and his wife adopted their foster child, Joe. Predeceased by his parents, he leaves his wife, Diane (Call) Greenman; sons: Bradford Bardwell (Allison) and Joseph Tellier-Greenman; brothers: Wendell Greenman and Carlton (Cindy) Greenman; sister, Lois Bascom (Donald); grandchildren: Serena and Erika and many family members and friends. A Memorial service will be held on August 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM at First Congregational Church, Ashfield. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
