Stanley R. Padykula

October 26, 1950 — March 6, 2024

Stanley R. Padykula Jr. passed away on March 6, 2024 after a few years battling ALS, also known as Lou Geurig disease. He was affectionately known as Stan, and for those closest to him as Stachu. He was born on October 26, 1950 in Springfield, MA to Stanley and Mildred (Chesner) Padykula, now deceased. Growing up in Springfield’s north end, he often told stories of the family around him including his brother Richard Padykula, deceased, his grandmother Sophie Chesner, deceased, and cousin Joey Caliento. After graduating from High School of Commerce he went to work at Savage Arms in Westfield, where he worked for 45 years, retiring in 2013. While there he met his wife, Yasmin Adham, and they married July 25, 1982. He loved working and making things and making improvements in the home. He was talented in many trades and if he did not know how to do something he would learn how and tackle any project or endeavor. He also loved nature and the outdoors and was in awe of all living creatures. He adored his pet cats and also the dogs he would meet up with on his outdoor ventures. In 2005 he and his wife moved to Feeding Hills and there his passion for the outdoors turned to daily 3.5 mile walks in nature. He was a loving and devoted husband. And to all those who knew him he was kind and generous with his ability to provide help in any way. He was simply a gentle, sweet, and kind man.
He will be remembered by his brother-in-law, Robert Adham of Maryville, TN, and wife Patty Adham, his cousin Joey and wife Deborah Caliento of Springfield, cousin Michael Padykula of Chicopee and many other cousins, relatives, and friends who survive him. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at from 4PM-6:15PM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA. A service to remember and honor him will be held at 6:15PM.
