AGAWAM - Scott Clifford Brown passed away peacefully at home on July 30, 2016, the morning after his 65th birthday. He lived for two and a half years with pancreatic cancer, which he bore with enormous strength and grace.
A son of coastal Maine, Scott’s journey also brought him to Arizona, Western Massachusetts, Alaska, and Vermont. He graduated college with his Bachelor’s degree in history. He retired from Home Depot in Enfield, CT. Scott was an avid history and world affairs enthusiast and scholar. He had an abiding love of the sea and the outdoors, hiking, running, biking, and camping. He delighted in travels with his family to Italy and Canada. He passed on his love of music and his humor to his children.
He is predeceased by his parents Clifford and Beverly Brown. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cecelia Roseman Brown, his two adored daughters Rachel Brown and Amanda Brown, and his brother Patrick Brown. He showed us how hard work, a positive outlook, and deep gratitude can make a happy, fulfilling, and peaceful life. Scott’s close family, family-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends will deeply miss this humble, kind, wise, good man. New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA has been entrusted with the arrangements. Visit
