Ruth Martin (Laskey), 85, of West Springfield entered eternal rest surrounded by the love of her daughter and her friends at her side at Bear Mountain, West Springfield, December 31st, 2025.

How does a person sum up a life of 85 years in a few paragraphs?

Born in Melrose Mass, a graduate of Melrose High School, she was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, mother, friend, sister, daughter, Aunt, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was a very outspoken, funny, witty, and oh was she a sassy and spunky individual. She loved playing Keno with her friends, and a frequent quest at the casino. Ruth will be sadly missed by her children John and Penne Martin. She was predeceased by her sons Thomas and James Martin. She also leaves several grandchildren Alex, Jesika, Steven, Michael, Elizabeth and Great Grandchildren Branden, Nathan, Damen and Dawson.

Committal service and military honors will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 130 Main Street, Agawam MA, 01001 on Thursday, January 8, 2025, at 3PM.
