SPRINGFIELD – Ronald C. Cignoli, 83, passed away on June 21, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center. He will be fondly remembered as a jokester with a nickname given to those he came in contact with on his daily rounds.
Born in Springfield, MA on August 13, 1934 to Charles and Catherine Cignoli, he was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School and attended AIC. A lifelong resident, he worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, United Technologies, retiring after over 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He played baseball, was a member of the Senior Relics Softball team, a Patriots and Yankees fan and enjoyed the tracks and casinos.
Survivors include his loving family Michael Cignoli and his wife Tammy of Jupiter, FL, daughters Donna Perez of Springfield, MA and MaryBeth Isaacs and her husband Jack of Saugus, MA; grandchildren Danielle Grove and her husband Joshua of Jupiter, FL and Sasha Sullivan and her husband Daniel of Holyoke, MA; great-grandchildren Rudy Grove and Sawyer Sullivan; sister-in-law Abigail Cignoli, two nephews, a niece and his former wife, Elizabeth Cignoli. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Cignoli.
Services with military honors will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 11 AM in the chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery. The family extends sincere appreciation to the staff at Mercy Medical Center for the care given to Ronald.
