Springfield - Robert Ferrando, 87, passed away on March 8, 2020.
He was born in Springfield on December 25, 1932, the son of the late Lorenzo and Anne (Donaldson) Ferrando.
He was a truck driver for A&P and Foodmart and retired from Stop & Shop as a customer service clerk.
Bob loved playing bingo and socializing at the West Springfield and Agawam Senior Centers. He also enjoyed dog racing and leisure time at the Cape, Niagara Falls and loved the Red Sox and Patriots.
He is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-three years, Angela (St. Onge) Ferrando, (they celebrated their thirty third anniversary on August 28, 2019), seven children, Susan Salame and her husband Mike of Sandisfield, MA, Robert Ferrando Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Wilbraham, MA, Kathy Clark and her husband Eddie of South Carolina, Debbie Aickelin and her husband Ron of Georgia, Scott Ferrando of Maine, Theresa Huckins of Westfield, MA, and Bethany Flanagan of Springfield, MA.
He will be sadly missed by twelve grandchildren; Daniel, Bobby, Jr., Scott, Ryan, Louis, Jeremy, Erika, Brandon, Matthew, Andrew, Nicholas, and Emily, twelve great grandchildren and beloved mother in law, Shirley Berard.
He was predeceased by seven siblings.
A special thanks to his hospice team; Zulma, Liz, Calina, Vivian, and Arlene. Visitation will be on March 16, 2020 from 10AM – 11AM with a funeral service at 11AM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA. Entombment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery Mausoleum.
