Westfield - Robert (Skip) J.
Cameron, Jr., 44, died suddenly on December 23, 2010 at Baystate Hospital.
He lived most of his life in Westfield.
He graduated from Westfield
Vocational High
School; where he was class President for his
junior and senior years, and Valedictorian for his graduating year. In
his younger years, he worked at McDonald’s and Radio Shack. Later on, he
worked in a foundry for several years. For the last several years,
because of his health issues, he worked as a part-time handy man. Skip
was an avid Star Wars and Star Trek fan; he also liked model trains. He
also loved working on and repairing computers. Last January, he went with
a group of people from the Pioneer Valley Baptist Chapel in Chicopee. They went to Mississippi to help
people rebuild from Hurricane Katrina. He was also planning on going
again this January.
He leaves his mother Shirley (Richards) Cameron and his
future step father Thomas LaPanne III, his father Robert Cameron Sr. and step
mother Debra Cameron from Ohio, 1 step sister, 2 step brothers, 2 step nieces
Elyssa and Courtney, his aunts Patricia Greenia of Westfield, Sandra Peters
from Saint Albans, Vermont, Gertrude Bragg of Fitchburg, Ma, Mary Lou Cameron
of Lampasas, Texas, Marceline Sitler of Berwick, PA, and an Uncle Donald
Cameron of Finger, Tennessee, and numerous cousins. He also leaves two
God children Patty Vanoostveen and Amanda Forgey of Westfield. Skip also leaves a lot of
really good friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2011
at 2:00 PM at First Congregational Church, 18 Broad Street, Westfield
MA. New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA is assisting the family.
