SPRINGFIELD—It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard A. LeBlanc. He was taken home to the arms of the Lord on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Rick was born on May 9, 1951 in Springfield, MA to Camille A. and Eleanor L. (Chartier) LeBlanc, who both predeceased him. He graduated from the High School of Commerce and was a tractor trailer driver by profession. He worked for Springfield Beef, Lewis Beef and retired from N. Winer and Son. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 42 years, Barbara L. (Butterfoss) LeBlanc; two sons, Andrew S. (Adrienne) LeBlanc, Scott A. Butterfoss LeBlanc ; one daughter, Lauren R. LeBlanc Williams (Jason) and three cherished grandchildren, Optimus, Julian and the absolute light and joy of his life, Lauren. He also leaves one brother James T. (Lori) LeBlanc and one sister Victoria J. (Bill) Farley, his mother-in-law Marjorie P. Butterfoss, brother-in-law Dale Butterfoss, four nephews and two nieces, plus a host of other children whom he helped raise and influence over his life. He is dearly missed by his “little girl” puppy Maya. Rick was a strong, proud, hardworking man who lived for his family and gave all he had for them. At Rick’s request there will be no services; a gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date to celebrate his life. He will be loved always and missed terribly. His family would like to thank the staff at BSMC ICU for their amazing kindness and compassion, especially his nurse, Pam.
