CHICOPEE – Richard J. Bacon, 63, died October 30, 2009. Born in Ludlow to the late Louis J. and Gladys T. (Lukasziewicz) Bacon, he was a lifelong Chicopee resident. Richard served two tours of duty during Vietnam as a Seabee in the Navy. He had worked as a truck driver for St. Johnsbury Trucking. He loved to hunt, fish and garden and especially loved camping at the beach in Rhode Island with his wife.
He leaves his wife, Phyllis A. (Martel) Bacon; his brother-in-law, Francis Martel and his wife, Sam, and their children, Elizabeth and Sarah, of Ludlow; a nephew, Donald Meade and his wife, Diana, and their daughter, Sophia, of Chicopee and other family members.
Private services will be held at a later date.
