Raymond A. Long

South Hadley - Raymond A. Long, 68, a lifelong resident of South Hadley suddenly passed away on Saturday May 6th,2017.
Born January 20th 1949 to Yvette (Raymond) and Francis Long, he is survived by his wife of 38 years Cynthia (Coushaine) Long, son John and his wife Stephanie of Astoria, NY, daughter Sharon of Beverly, MA, sister Frances Como and her husband James of South Hadley, brother William and his wife Mary of West Springfield, and many nieces and nephews.
Ray was a military veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He worked for over 30 years at Spalding Sports Worldwide in Chicopee as a Quality Assurance Manager, and most recently at PSI 91 of Springfield.
He frequently traveled to the Far East for work, constantly bringing home keepsakes for his family. He enjoyed reading suspense novels and spending time with loved ones.
Ray will always be known for his quick wit and being able to make anyone in his presence laugh.
Relatives and friends are requested to gather at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA on Friday May 12 at 11:30am – 12:30pm followed by committal services with military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
