Ralph S. Groves Jr.

HOLYOKE – Ralph S. Groves Jr., 90, died November 18, 2011 at the Soldiers Home in Holyoke, MA. Born in Kansas on September 20, 1921 to the late Ralph and Nina (Crummer) Groves, he served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He loved sailing in Lake Erie. Predeceased by his wife Barbara, brother, Harold and sister, Mary, he is survived by his son, Geoffrey Groves (Maureen) of Phoenix, AZ, daughter, Nora C. Groves and her husband, Robert Nakosteen of Amherst, MA and grandchildren, Meagan Malaney, of Amherst MA., and Shawn Groves of Medina, OH, and great grandchild Joseph Groves of Medina, OH. The family is grateful for the care he received at the Soldiers Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Soldiers Home or to Hospice Services of Western Massachusetts.
