West Springfield - I, was born in Holyoke on January 26th, the second year of the new Baby Boomers, and I died on June 11 at the East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Home. Predeceased by: parents and adoptive aunts, Georgie and Alice Brochu. Education: Classical High, Springfield; Bay Path College, Longmeadow (Liberal Arts); UMASS, Amherst (Retail Marketing); and BU, Boston (Communications). Writing Career: Copywriter/chief for Hartford department stores; Boston advertising and public relations firms; Internal Interviewer for many non-profit organizations. Membership: Unitarian Universalist (“UU”) Society of Greater Springfield since 1998; writer for various committees. Activities/Interests: Learning, doing something new, animals, traveling to anywhere, photography, fashion, The Arts, and humor. Those I Left Behind: Bessy, The Feline Femme Fatale; brothers Ray Perreault of Agawam and Bob Perreault of Winger, Wisconsin; nephew Pete Perreault of Austin, TX and cousin Joe Provost of West Springfield. I have been extremely fortunate to have had many, many, long term friends who have consistently demonstrated love and compassion to me throughout my long journey. “Friends are the family that we choose ourselves.” A special thank you to Dr. Grace Makari-Judson and her staff at the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care, including but not limited to Candy Bignell, Trish Tabin and Marlene Quinlan for the wonderful care and attention I received from them. A Celebration of (a Good) Life will be held on September 27, 2014 at “UU”, 245 Porter Lake Drive in Forest Park, Springfield.
