Philip A. Greene, 89, of West Springfield, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026. Born on October 12, 1936, in Westfield, he was the beloved son of the late Ralph and Pearl (Felton) Greene.

Philip proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Airman Second Class. Following his military service, he devoted many years to public service as a police officer for the Town of West Springfield. In addition to his work in law enforcement, Philip also served his community as an EMT and was employed by the United States Postal Service.

A lifelong resident of West Springfield, Philip was a man of many interests. He enjoyed woodworking and had a passion for computers. He was known for his strong work ethic, steadfast sense of duty, and unwavering commitment to helping others.

Philip was predeceased by his wife, Theresa (Battyes) Greene, and his sisters: Gail Brourcier and Phyllis Howe of West Springfield, and Carla Vignato of Agawam.

He is survived by his son, Richard Greene and his wife Debra of Westfield; his daughter, Lori Gallerani and her husband Donald of Agawam; his grandchildren, Erica Gallerani and Troy Gallerani; his great-grandchild, Jethro Gallerani; as well as extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

Family and friends are invited to gather for Philip’s committal service with military honors at Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA, on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 9:00 AM.
