Philip A. Greene, 89, a life-long resident of West Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026.

 Born on October 12, 1936, in Westfield, MA, Philip proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Airman Second Class. Following his military service, he dedicated many years of his career to public service as a police officer for the Town of West Springfield. In addition to his work in law enforcement, Philip also served as an EMT and worked with the United States Postal Service.

 A man of many interests, Philip enjoyed woodworking and had a passion for computers. He was known for his strong work ethic, sense of duty, and commitment to helping others throughout his life. 

Philip was predeceased by his wife, Theresa (Battyes) Greene; sisters: Gail Brourcier and Phyllis Howe of West Springfield and Carla Vignato of Agawam. He is survived by his son, Richard Greene and his wife Debra of Westfield; his daughter, Lori Gallerani and her husband Donald of Agawam; his grandchildren, Erica Gallerani and Troy Gallerani; and his great-grandchild, Jethro Gallerani. He is also survived by his extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. 

Family and friends are invited to meet at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA, on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 9:00 AM for Philip’s committal service with military honors.
