Pedro Torres, 64, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at his daughter’s home surrounded by his loving daughters and family.
He was born in Arroyo, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Maria Reyes Torres, but has been a Holyoke resident since his younger years.
Pedro was an amateur Golden Gloves boxer at the Holyoke Boys Club and was very passionate about this sport. He was always showing off his fancy moves to his family and friends. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees fan and loved cheering on his teams.
He brought joy and laughter to everyone around him and he will be missed.
He is survived by his daughters: Sonia Torres of Holyoke, Evelyn Torres of Bondsville, Maria Torres-Colon of Thorndike, eight grandchildren: Sasha, Ricardo Jr., Ayanna, Izander, Jasmine, Mackeily, Rosa, Susan and his two amazing great grandchildren: Joseph and Selena. He also leaves his brothers: Esmeraldo, Andres, Pablo and Miguel Rodriguez, his sisters: Marta Figueroa and Maria Santiago and many nieces and nephews.
Sadly, he was predeceased by his brothers: David Rodriguez, Federico “Chico” Torres and his sister Tomasa Rodriguez.
A walk-thru visitation at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA is on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 10AM-12PM with a memorial service to immediately follow. Burial will be private. Masks and social distancing are required.
