Patricia A. Giordano

SPRINGFIELD--Patricia A. Giordano died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. Patty dedicated her life to social services and provided foster care for over 100 children. She had also worked for a disability services program in Connecticut helping disabled people prepare for employment. In 2000 Patty earned a Bachelor of Science degree in social work from the College of Our Lady of the Elms. She also had worked as an ombudsman for area nursing homes. She is predeceased by her parents, Kenneth "Joe" and Caroline (LeMay) Jokinen. She leaves her husband, Frank Giordano, and her son, Anthony Giordano, of Springfield, her daughters, Shannon Giordano and her fiancé, Kevin Ondras, of West Springfield, and Dawn Giordano and her fiancé, Jason Neal, of Chicopee, her brother, John Jokinen, and his wife, Nora, of Springfield, her grandchildren Julianna Hannah and Addyson Neal, her mother-in-law, Alberta Lees, of West Springfield and her two longtime special friends, Sharon Kaafi, of Chicopee and Laura Perez, of Springfield, along with many other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at 7:15 PM on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield, Massachusetts.
