Norman Armand Toulouse, age 75, and a longtime resident of Agawam, MA, passed away after a short illness at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT on January 18, 2022. The son of Armand G. Toulouse and Victoria J. Longtine, Norm was born in Palmer, MA and raised in Wilbraham, where he attended elementary and junior high school. He graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield, attended Saint Anselm College and was employed for over 35 years by New England Telephone, NYNEX and Bell Atlantic. After he retired, Norm opened his own telecommunications service company. In his younger years, he enjoyed Formula I and NASCAR racing, fast boats, snowmobiles and loved riding his Harley. He spent a lot of time in Canada and Watkins Glen and when closer to home, at Otis Reservoir and vacationing on Nauset Beach at Cape Cod. Norm liked working with his hands, owned a vast array of tools and could repair or remodel just about anything. He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching sports, especially the New England Patriots and the UCONN Women’s Basketball team.
Norm had a wide circle of friends, most of whom knew him as “Stormin’ Norman.” He’s remembered for his adventurous spirit, generosity and sense of humor. His son, Keven Toulouse predeceased him. He is survived by his daughter, Michielle Hahn of Castle Hayne, NC; granddaughters, Gabrielle Hahn of Wilmington, NC and Keven’s daughter, Taylor Toulouse of Duluth, MN; two great grandchildren, Juliano Denardo and Delphine French; a brother, Paul Toulouse of Arlington, VA; two nieces, Melissa Toulouse and Gabriella Toulouse of Astoria, New York, a nephew, Kyle Toulouse of Arlington, VA, an aunt, Patricia Toulouse of Kittery, ME, as well as many cousins and his longtime friend, Katherine Kennedy of Agawam.
SERVICES UPDATE
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11AM at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, 1076 Thorndike Street, Palmer, MA. Interment will follow in the Toulouse/Longtine family plot at Saint Thomas Cemetery in Palmer.
