Springfield – Norman F. LaGasse, 92, husband of the late Lorraine “Ronnie” (Moore) LaGasse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in a local nursing home.
He was born in Springfield on May 9, 1924, a son of the late Wilfred and Antoinette (Boutin) LaGasse and attended local schools.
He served in the US Army during WWII and was a disabled veteran, receiving the Purple Heart. After serving his country, he was employed as a dental equipment salesman by GCAmerica for many years. Norman was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council 63. He previously resided in Dolton, IL, and Lady Lake, FL.
He is survived by his brother Wilfred A. LaGasse of Chicopee, and sister Jeannette L. Desrosiers of Ludlow and five nieces and two nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Robert E. LaGasse, and brother-in-law Robert Desrosiers.
Family and friends are invited to gather at 8:30am on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA and process to Holy Cross Church for a 10am Liturgy of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
