Naomi Mccollum

September 13, 1917 — August 29, 2014

SPRINGFIELD - Naomi (Sapp) McCollum departed this life on August 28, 2014. Naomi was born on September 16, 1917 in Rocky Ford, GA.  Naomi moved to Holyoke, MA in 1962 to be with her family.  She worked as a seamstress, and once she moved to Holyoke, worked as a machine operator at Elco Dress Shop.  Naomi moved to Springfield, MA in 1967.  1969, she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and belonged to the North Congregation in Springfield, MA.  Naomi was a feisty, yet loving woman, who never hesitated to help out anyone in need.  She loved with all of her heart and soul, and will be truly missed by many people.


Naomi was predeceased by her mother Cornelia and father Charlie; daughter, Cornelia and husband, Willie McCollum.  Left to celebrate her life are her sons, Lester Jr. (Bronx, NY), Charles (Yonkers, NY), and Eddie (Grand Rapids, MI).  To carry on her legacy are 13 grandchildren, 29 great grand-children, as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and family.

A Memorial Talk will be held on September 5, 2014 at 7:00PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, North Congregation, 58 Wilkes Street, Springfield, MA. New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA. has been entrusted with the arrangements. Visit www.nefcc.net
