Nancy M. Jackson (affectionately known to all who loved her as “Teenie”), 79, of Springfield, MA transitioned from this life on March 23, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born to the late Fletcher and L.E. Jackson on February 10, 1941 in Lucien, MS, Nancy relocated to Springfield, MA in 1969 where she made her home. Nancy was educated at the Progress School in Loyd Star, MS but went on to obtain her GED from Buckingham High School in Springfield, MA. Nancy continued her education and acquired several certificates in child care and opened Nancy's Daycare which she operated until she retired 20 years later. Nancy's Daycare was always full and children would cry when their parents picked them up. Nancy was the matriarch of her family and was well known to all who loved her. Nancy hosted dinner at her home for every holiday and family and friends gathered to enjoy her great food and wonderful conversation. Nancy made everyone who entered her home feel like family. Aside from holiday dinners, Nancy always hosted a large cookout to bring family together every 4th of July. Nancy would miss those who could not attend and always mentioned for family to check on them. Nancy spoke highly of achievements made by others and always acknowledged how proud she was. Nancy led by example and her wishes are for her legacy to live on. Predeceased by her parents, a brother Garfield Jackson and half-brother David Reed, sisters: Lucille Daniels, Mary N. Jackson, Ethel McCreary, Helen McCoy, Earline Arnold, and Betty Willams. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Betty Kathryn (Jackson) Jenkins, Terry Jackson, Darla (Jackson) Lowe, and Yvette Jackson of Springfield, MA and Michael Jackson of Dannemora, NY; sons-in-law Percy Jenkins Sr., William Lowe Sr., and Bobby Durley Jr. of Springfield, MA; her sisters Rubie Jackson and Dorothy Jackson, half sister Charlene Smith of Chicago, IL, and brother-in-law Ollie Williams of Springfield, MA. Nancy leaves 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, her honorary children, Tracy and Sheila Wilcher and Holly and Michael McCreary of Springfield, MA; granddaughters LaTasha Lowe and Tyshara Durley who served as her dedicated care givers as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic all services are private and limited to immediate family members by invitation only. The wake will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 from 1-2PM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA. Private burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visit
