Michele E. Bourbeau, 83, of Chicopee, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Holyoke Medical Center. Born on July 9, 1943, in Springfield, Massachusetts, Michele was the daughter of the late Albert J. Bourbeau and Simonne R. (Joubert) Bourbeau. Michele attended and graduated from St. Ann’s Academy in Marlborough, MA. She spent many years working for the United States Postal Service, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. Michele also happily worked many years as a waitress at the former Hukelau Restaurant in Chicopee as well as a cashier at Stop and Shop on Liberty St in Springfield. Michele is lovingly survived by her sons, William E. Poirier, III (Deborah) of Ludlow and Andrew Poirier of Chicopee and her three beloved grandchildren, Amanda, William IV, and Aiden, all who were the light of her life. She leaves her brother, Daniel Bourbeau of Agawam and a sister, Michelle Davis of Chicopee. Michele also leaves behind her beloved niece, Elizabeth A. Rock-Ackerman (Michael) of Florence, who held a special place in her life, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her dearly. Besides her parents, Michele is pre-deceased by her brother, James Bourbeau of Hamden CT, and sisters , Annette Rogers of Hamden CT, and Ann Rock Theroux of Northampton, and sister-in-law, Debora Bourbeau of Southwick. Michele will be remembered for her passion of playing piano and for the love and lasting memories she shared with those closest to her. Her family and friends are invited to Michele’s Liturgy of Christian Mass on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, Massachusetts.
