Michael L. Tancrati

Springfield - Michael J. Tancrati, 85, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center.
A lifelong Springfield resident, he was born on December 8, 1932, a son of the late Michael W. and Mary (Fuda) Tancrati.
He attended local schools and served in the U S. Army during the Korean War stationed in Company 3rd Battalion 188th Airborne Infantry Regiment.
Michael enjoyed his trips to the casino and teletrack. He retired in 1996 after twenty-eight years of service with the PVTA.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary (Briaca) Tancrati on October 14, 2009.
He is survived by his son David M. Tancrati and his wife Mary Meffen of Springfield, his daughter Debra Menard and her husband Paul of West Springfield, two brothers, Richard Tancrati and his partner Judy Agiato of East Longmeadow, and Cary Tancrati and his wife Tina of Southwick. He also leaves his sister Madeline Simone of Florida. He will be sadly missed by two grandsons he loved very much, Ethan and Cameron Menard.
He was predeceased by his brother in law Robert Simone.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA 01108 with visitation from 10am – 12pm. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
