Michael A. Coppola, 65, died at Mercy Medical Center on August 28, 2021 with his sisters by his side.
A lifelong Springfield, MA resident, he was born on March 21, 1956, a son of the late Alfred and Irene (Pittsinger) Coppola. Michael was a hard-working, charming and funny guy. He was a huge Red Sox fan and also enjoyed reading about history. Another pastime was fishing with his buddy Billy. Michael was a dedicated manager at the former Union Market in Springfield for 27 years.
He is survived by sisters, Mary and Tina Coppola. He was predeceased by his brother Tony Coppola. Per Michael’s wishes, no services will be held.
Memorial donations may be sent to any Springfield, MA homeless shelter or the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Springfield, MA. New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
