Mary Lawson Whitlock, 81, wife of the late Willie B. Whitlock, died January 15, 2020 surrounded by her family. Mary was born May 31, 1938 in New London, CT to the late Elizabeth Johnson and Raymond Goode. Mary loved children, enjoyed gardening, and crocheting. Mary was famously known for her homemade favorite icees.
Predeceased by her parents, daughter Michelle, brothers Nathan Johnson, Lawrence Johnson and Richard Goode, sister Beverly Lowe, and granddaughter Tiffany Pitters, Mary leaves her sons Willie S. Whitlock Jr. and Donald B. Whitlock of Springfield, MA; daughters Linda M. Woods (Stevie) of Springfield, MA, Lisa Brantley and Kimberly Johnson of Atlanta, GA; sisters Laura Howard of CT and Leona Goode of NC; brothers Edward Goode of CT and James Johnson of NH; grandchildren Jovan D. Whitlock, Thomas L. Whitlock, Enjoli Whitlock, Kayla M.E. Woods, Jana A. Woods, Tajon Johnson, Mei’zaya Johnson; 3 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral for Mrs. Whitlock will be on January 23, 2020 with a wake from 10 – 11AM followed by a service at 11:00AM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visit www.nefcc.net
