Mary C. Mongroo

Springfield-Mary C. Mongroo, 75, died April 5, 2009 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Castries, St. Lucia, British West Indies to the late Zag and Agatha (Lewis) Mongroo, she emigrated to Springfield in 1969. She retired as a housekeeper from Baystate Medical Center. Mary will be remembered as a very caring, kind and considerate lady who opened her heart to her family and friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Desmond Mongroo. She will be sadly missed by her children: sons Hugh and Zephrin Mongroo, of Springfield, daughters Beverly Mongroo of Springfield and Debra Jackson and her husband, Terry of VA; two brothers: Gregory and Lee Mongroo, of St. Lucia, British West Indies; three grandchildren: Damahya and Sharahya Mongroo of Springfield and Tayden Jackson of VA and other family members in St. Lucia. The funeral will be Monday, April 13, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill St., Springfield. Visitation will precede the funeral on Monday from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
