Martha Jane (Peterson) McCallum, 72, passed away on January 30, 2023.
She was born in Boston, MA on August 29, 1950, a daughter of the late Edward and Leona (Bullard) Peterson.
She was a graduate of Westfield State University and was one of the first Certified Nurses’ Aides in this area. Martha will be remembered as a hard working independent woman who would take care of others before herself and always “told it like it is.” She enjoyed knitting, sewing and loud 60’s music.
She is survived by her husband Earl McCallum of Bradenton, FL, her children: Sean McCallum of West Springfield, MA, Michael McCallum of Chicopee, MA and Michelle McCallum of Springfield, MA. She also leaves her brother Dennis Peterson of Brunswick, ME and will be sadly missed by twelve grandchildren: William McCallum, Casey McCallum, Destiny McCallum, Nevaeh Cruz, Savannah Cruz, Aaliyah McCallum, Xandria Cruz, Cassandra McCallum, Kayleoni Cruz, Trynity Cruz, Taina Martinez and Colton McCallum.
Sadly, she was predeceased by three brothers: George, Christopher, James and her sister Veronica Bruso.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 2-4PM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA.
