Springfield-Marcolina Rosario, 77, died March 22, 2009 at home. Born in Puerto Rico to the late Feliciano and Paula (Rodriguez) Mendoza, she was an area resident for forty years. She was a seamstress and liked to sew. Marcolina will be remembered as a very warm and happy person who put a smile on everyone’s face. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two children, Rafeal Rosario and Gloria Cedeño. She leaves two sons: Manuel Cedeño of Puerto Rico and Julio Rosario of Springfield; seven daughters: Leida Ramos of Springfield, Luz Cruz of Puerto Rico, Maria Gonzales, Dolores Rivera, Carmen Heatley and Lydia Burgos, all of Springfield and Miriam Rosario of Indian Orchard; brothers and sister in Puerto Rico and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill St., Springfield on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral home service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, March 29, 2009 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
