Marcella G. Stanley

SPRINGFIELD - Marcella (Geyer) Stanley, 96, passed away on March 24,2016. She was born in East Vincent, PA. on September 16, 1919 to the late Raymond and Ida (Rhoads) Geyer. She grew up in Lancaster, PA and graduated from Reading Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. She served her country as a nurse in the United States Army during WWII attaining the rank of First Lieutenant. She saw duty in the European and Asiatic Theaters. Upon her return Marcella graduated from Columbia University with a B.S. in English. In 1953 she married Frank Stanley and they had 3 children. She is survived by her husband; children Marcia Stanley and her husband Stephen Valenti and Lois Stanley of Springfield, and William Stanley and his wife Laura and their children Stephanie and Pamela of Franklin, MA and her brother Allan Geyer of Sarasota, Fl.
