Springfield – Mamie Elizabeth (Earl) Kirby passed away on January 19, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Blue Mountain, MS on November 20, 1943, she relocated to Springfield, MA as a teenager with her family. She graduated from The High School of Commerce in 1963. She worked as an administrative assistant and later as a sales associate at Macy’s. Her customer service style was one that left a memorable impression on everyone she came across.
Mamie loved to travel and lived a lively life, but spending time with her family and friends and helping the loved ones around her is what meant most to her.
Predeceased by her mother and stepfather Erion (Earl) and Harold Cleveland and her birthfather Troy Simelton, she leaves to cherish her memory three aunts of Springfield: Novis Edwards, Martha Perry and Billie Jo Spears; six siblings Troy Simelton Jr. of TN, Ruby Simelton-Jones of MN, Carl Simelton of TN, Deborah Simelton of MN, Herbert Simelton of TN, and Joyce Simelton of MN; cousins: Annie Phillips of Springfield, Earle (Shannon) Phillips of IN, Torron Phillips and Jason Green of Springfield.
She will be truly missed by cousins Namarey, Naylone and Jason Green Jr. of Springfield, whom she loved and cherished dearly, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
