Louis P. Labonte

SPRINGFIELD—Louis P. Labonte, 89, passed away on August 8, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his wife and family.Born in Springfield, Massachusetts on April 20,1924 to Adelor and Beatrice (Therrien) Labonte, he attended Ludlow High School and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He was a lifelong mason in BAC Local 1 in Springfield. He will be remembered for being an avid gardener and for his love of fishing at the ocean, Lake Champlain and Otis, MA. Louis is predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Rita and Corinne. He leaves his loving wife of 64 years, Shirley (Gaudette) Labonte, his sons, Davis Labonte (Michelle) of Chicopee, MA and Linden Labonte (Donna) of Springfield, MA and his daughters, Donna Turner (Carl) of Jacksonville, FL, Shellie White (Kevin) of Longmeadow, MA and Alyson Labonte of Springfield, MA along with 11 grandchildren: Melissa, Kristine, Amy, Christopher, Megan, Nathan, Alyssa, Jace, Aaron, Danielle and Jason and 17 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17,2013 at 11:00AM at Foster Memorial Church, 1791 Wilbraham Rd., Springfield, MA.
