Leo Gagnier, 64, passed away suddenly on Tuesday August 23,2022 at Cape Cod Hospital.
Born in Holyoke, MA on October 24,1957, he was the son of the late Frances (Corbut) Gagnier and Leo Gilbert Gagnier. Leo was a hard-working laborer his whole life. He had a passion for gardening and loved sharing his vegetables with friends and neighbors. Leo loved vacationing in Cape Cod, traveling with his wife Laura, riding his motorcycle, and grilling and spending time with family and friends. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Leo knew he was quick witted, straight forward and loved to banter on any topic. Before the term “Fear of Missing Out” (FOMO) was made popular, Leo was the life of the party and people were naturally drawn to him. Leo was a wonderful husband, caring brother and wonderful friend to many.
He leaves behind the love of his life Laura Avery-Gagnier, his wife of 39 years. Leo is predeceased by his sister Sheila Soars. He leaves behind his sister Patricia Gagnier and her daughter Sara as well as his sister Denise Gagnier and her daughter Katie Wells and her husband Marlon White and their son Ackeem White. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends including his loving niece Stacie Curtis, her husband Leon Curtis and their children William and Natalie.
Visitation will be on Tuesday August 30, 2022 from 4-6PM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA. A service will be held at 5:30PM.
