CHICOPEE - Leo G. “Rusty” Dionne, 76, of Chicopee, beloved husband and father, died peacefully Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his close family. Leo was born to Laurio and Yvonne (Roberge) Dionne in Manchester, NH and moved to Rochester, NY for a short time before he settled in Chicopee, MA, where he made his home and raised his family. In his youth, he was a talented musician who performed across New England for over 10 years. While pursuing his passion for music he held positions with IBM and C.F. Church. He later joined Doncasters Storms Forge, retiring after over 30 years. Tirelessly committed to his family, his passion and determination for their benefit was a driving force throughout his life. Always curious, he enjoyed learning new things, whether though self-study or from friends and colleagues. His friends and family will attest to his great sense of humor and his appreciation for good conversation. He will be sorely missed and his memory deeply cherished.He is survived by Cecile “Cindy” Dionne of Chicopee, MA, his devoted wife of 47 years; his son Ross Dionne and wife Tina Quinby of Baltimore, MD; his son Raymond Dionne and wife Lisa Hondzinski-Dionne of NH. He is also survived by siblings Roger Dionne and his wife Mona and Constance Callicutt of FL, and Robert Dionne of MA.A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at Mary, Mother of Hope Parish in Springfield, MA at 10 AM, December 6, 2014. In lieu of flowers, his family respectfully requests a donation in his name to Baystate Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice.
