SPRINGFIELD -
Layton S. Quick, 86, formerly of Danville, California passed away May 26, 2015 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in 1929 in Butteville, OR to the late William and Clara (Armstrong) Quick, he was a graduate of the San Francisco College of Art. He was a landscape architect and owner of Quick’s Landscaping. He was also an author and graphic artist.
Mr. Quick proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the California American Legion Post 246 and a supporter of Boy’s State. Mr. Quick was a prolific painter and traveled to Asia, South America, Europe, Africa, and across the US.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Gloria (Fioranelli) Quick in January, 2010 and seven siblings and leaves his daughters, Deborah Evans of Springfield, MA, Gretchen Fuerstenau of Pleasanton, CA and Laura Quick of Sylmar, CA, sons-in-law Daryl Fuerstenau and Brenton Evans and grandchildren Gwyneth and Emma Evans and Kira and Ryan Fuerstenau.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 31, 2015 from 1-3 PM with a service at 2:30 PM at the New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans 68 Court St. Springfield, MA 01103Visit
