I first saw the light of day on November 19, 1936 in Springfield, MA, the first son of Leo and Elsie Conti.
My brother Leonard and twin sisters Camilla and Catherine soon followed.
My active, happy childhood was spent in the Hungry Hill section of Springfield going to local schools and playing with the neighborhood kids in Van Horn Park.
After graduating from AIC, I married my first wife Judy and we had a son, Stephen and a daughter, Deborah and I loved them both to pieces.
Divorce found Judy and I in 1986.
The next year the love of my life found me. One magical night at a hiking club meeting Claudia came into my life. What followed was romantic and wonderful. We married in 1991 and had a twenty-year honeymoon, enjoying each other and traveling extensively.
Claudia died in 2019 and I developed pulmonary fibrosis.
For the last year Geraldine (Dini) Renkert has made me happy with her sunny optimistic and attractive companionship. She calls me every morning with “Good Morning America, I love you!” that fills my heart.
I’ve had an active, healthy, happy life doing everything that I wanted to do. I died on April 15, 2021.
A walk-thru visitation will be held at the New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 4PM with a funeral service at 5:30PM. Masks and social distancing are required.
Private burial will take place at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Greater Springfield Memorial Garden.
