Feeding Hills - On Friday evening, August 26, 2022, Judith A. (Beers) Bertera (aka: Mimi, AJ, Sister, Friend and importantly Mom) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in the comfort of her daughter’s home.
She was born on April 9, 1945 to her parents Harold and Doris (Gagnon) Beers in the city of Springfield, MA. She is also predeceased by her loving son, Michael C Bertera, her sister Patricia and nephew “Bo” Swenor. She is survived by her beautiful daughter Debbie Bertera Peet (Bill), her loving granddaughters Nicole Stevenson (Kevin), Jenna Bertera (Dave Lopez), Britney Peet (Eliseo Ortiz), Alexandra Haga (Justin) and Rebecca Bertera. Her greatest gifts of all great grandchildren: Chase and Taylor Stevenson, Brady Lopez, and Nelson and Harrison Haga. She is also survived by her brother David Bates of Florida and several nephews and nieces especially Michelle Blaine and special friend “fraternal daughter” Diane Wilson who were alongside through her battle against cancer. She is a graduate of Trade High School, class of 1963 where she began her career as a cosmetologist. Her path soon led to becoming a business owner. Overall, she devoted 59 years to the industry making people feel beautiful not only on the outside but on the inside as well. Judy’s personality was one in a million, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, weekly trips to the casino and even indulging in a glass of Sambuca. When traveling, she always made new friends and became the life of any party. During her role as “Mimi” and throughout her journey of life, her greatest moments were spent with her granddaughters and spending special time with her great grandchildren. She will deeply be missed by all who knew her and especially the “crew” at Hair and Company in Agawam. “Heaven has gained another Angel around the throne”.
Services will be private, and a Celebration of Life will occur in the future as well as planting a tree in her memory.
