Joseph T. Maloney

Joseph T. Maloney, 84, beloved husband of Eileen (McDonald) Maloney, passed away on April 2, 2023. He was born in Springfield, MA on July 26, 1938, the son of late Joseph and Brigid (Mahoney) Maloney. Joseph grew up in the Hungry Hill section of Springfield and was a very proud graduate of Cathedral High School. An all-around sports guy, he loved March Madness, golf and tennis. He was a member of the steam fitter’s union for over forty years and after retirement worked at Westfield State College in the maintenance department. He was a fifty-year Longmeadow, MA resident and a member of the Unitarian Universalist Society in Springfield. He is survived by his sons: Timothy Maloney (Terri) of Pittsfield, MA and Sean Maloney of Wallingford, CT and will be sadly missed by his granddaughter, Margaret “Molly” Maloney. Sadly, his beloved wife Eileen, passed away on March 21, 2024. Visitation and service for Joseph and Eileen will be held on May 6, 2024 at 11AM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA.
