Joseph O. Gorey, 72, of Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away on July, 30, 2022.
He was born in Portland, ME on November 6, 1949 to the late Oliva G. and Julia (Leo) Gorey. He had a passion for helping others and began his career as a self-employed smoking cessation counselor for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, singing karaoke and caring for his dogs. He was always there to lend a helping hand to his friends and neighbors.
Predeceased by his parents; brother Alfred Gorey; sister Jeanette Jamieson 2021. He is survived by his daughters: Adrienne Grader (Chris) of South Hadley and Jessica Verock of Athol; grandson Trent Niedzielski; brother Oliva Gorey of Portland, ME; partner Nancy Gallant of Springfield and a longtime friend Rita Howie of Chicopee. He will be laid to rest in the family plot in Portland, ME.
