East Longmeadow – Joseph J. Curry, 89, husband of the late Mildred (Lumnah) Curry, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017 in a local nursing home.
He was born in Cumberland, RI on August 21, 1927, the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (MacQuade) Curry. He attended Rhode Island schools and was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He retired as a steelworker from General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT.
He is survived by his sons: Michael S. Curry and his partner Nancy of Cumberland, RI and Paul K. Curry and his wife Brenda of Palmer, MA. He also leaves three grandchildren: Joshua, Jason, and Devan Curry and four great grandchildren: Kimberlee, Kevin, Lucas and Nora Curry, two nephews; Robert and Lucia Love and Gordon and Patty Love of MD, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 3, 2017 from 10-11 AM at St. Aidan Roman Catholic Church, 1460 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland, RI. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM. Burial with military honors will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 153 Curran Road, Cumberland, RI.
