SPRINGFIELD – Joseph B. Cilino, 90, passed away February 15, 2016. Born in Jersey City, NJ on January 20, 1926 to the late Charles and Rose Cilino, he was a resident of Springfield since 1968. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a meat cutter for Stop & Shop in NJ and MA. He will be remembered as a quiet man who loved opera and will be lovingly missed by his wife, children and family.
Predeceased by his daughters Susan Cilino and Kathryn Bukowinski, he leaves his wife Mary (Miller) Cilino of Springfield; children Matthew Cilino (Grace) of NJ, Walter Singleman (Jessica) of WA, Janet Proios (Angelo) of Newton, MA, and Donald Singleman of Melrose, MA; brothers Frank Cilino (Anne) of NJ and Charles Cilino of OK; grandchildren Deborah and Diane Cilino, Stephen Bukowinski, Rose Dodge-Singleman, and Hannah, Liam, and Elizabeth Singleman and a great grandchild Kennan Bukowinski.
The wake for Mr. Cilino will be Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 2-4 PM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield. Funeral services will be on Monday, February 22, 2016 beginning at 11:30 PM with a service at 12:30 PM. Burial with military honors will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery.
