Jose Javier Colon Martinez

Jose Javier Colon Martinez, 35, of Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away tragically in Springfield on November 6, 2023. He was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico on November 2, 1988 to Esmeralda Martinez and Jose A. Colon. He was very artistic and enjoyed drawing with his son, Mason, wrestling with his oldest son, Justin and fishing trips with Jacob. He enjoyed spontaneous day trips with his family, riding his motorcycle, going to the shooting range with his father-in-law David. Jose was fond of reading the Bible and writing his prayers in a journal nightly. Most importantly, Jose gave of himself to the ones he loved and lived life to the fullest. Predeceased by his father Jose A. Colon and brother Edgardo Colon in 2020, his grandmother Candida Santiago in 2022, and his grandfather Encarnacion Martinez, he leaves his beloved wife Diana Hernandez-Colon, three sons: Justin Nieves, Jacob Colon, and Mason Colon and his mother Esmeralda Martinez of Springfield, MA and his brother Anibal Colon (Javiela Blanco). He also leaves his father and mother-in-law David and Evelyn Marks of Chicopee, MA and nieces and nephews: Jonathan Colon, Joshua Colon, Gianna Colon, Luis Guzman, Jadily Martinez, Julianys Colon and Jariel Colon. Jose was employed as a CDL driver for waste management. Jose will be fondly remembered for his service as a funeral attendant at New England Funeral & Cremation Center. To honor his life a wake will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 9:00AM to 10:00AM with a service at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield, MA. New England Funeral & Cremation Center, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
