Jonathan S. Dane, 63, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020. Born in Springfield, MA on October 9, 1956 to the late Edwin and Patricia (Munson) Dane, he was a certified welding inspector and had to retire early because of legal blindness. He was a type 1 diabetic for 50 years and handled many complications from the disease with humor, grace and courage.
Predeceased by uncles Don Dane and Thurston Munson, Jr, aunt Bette Lewis and brother-in-law Delmar Wilcox, he is survived by his sister Melissa Dane, uncle Tom Lewis, aunt Sandy Munson, first cousins Howard Munson, Marc Munson, Wendy (Munson) D’Ugo (Paul), Gregg Lewis (Kary), Jeff Lewis (Kim), Mitch Lewis (Johanna), Stephanie Lewis-DeAyala (Ralph) and Thomasine Lewis-Tilden (Peter).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA is assisting the family. Visit www.nefcc.net
